A refreshingly fascinating meeting, the Street Food buffet is the second activity of Project Management English Club, which had its debut last October. Taking place on Sunday morning November 8th at Buiding A (DUT), the seminar attracted a great number of participants and became a real “party” for the youthful combination among students from PM department and Bruneian students!
Before getting ahead to the main session, PMEC meeting started with an energetic warm-up game called “Transfer the chopsticks”. All of the news friends, both Vietnamese and Bruneian, immediately got acquainted with each other and set up their own best teams...
Chit-chatting while waiting before the beginning time...
Look! We got 7 teams!
“Chopsticks” game: Ready…
At the beginning, everybody was so shy and reluctant to speak out, but after 2 games “The Secret Dishes”, which required teams to guess the exact names of Vietnamese mysterious dishes, and the most engaging “Presentation on a Specialty Dish” in which player had to give a 3-minute presentation about a traditional dish, there was no longer tension in the air, people talked, exchanged ideas and laughed with each other a lot.

When a team guessed it right, our Bruneian friend in that team could have a taste of the delicious dish.
... then, we will get down to the teamwork.
After the interesting but quite “exhausting” activities, it was time for long awaiting Tea-break. Many traditional tasty dishes were served and Vietnamese students introduced them to Bruneian students. Everyone enjoyed themselves eating and talking together in a warm-welcoming atmosphere.

Enjoyable
Also, we celebrated a birthday party for a friend from Brunei, which was a happy surprise for this lovely girl. Then, all the attendants joined the last game called “ Adopting the orders”, which was strange and entertaining at the same time.

The party was full of joy and delicious food. People could make new friends from a foreign country, learn more about culture, and practise English skill from this memorial experience. It was truly hard to announce “Time is up” and say goodbye. Thanks for all of your joining with us and hope to see you again next time
Finally...
When getting home from the meeting, PMEC received a lovely message from one of the Bruneian friend. It said: “Honestly, regardless of any other Vietnamese that I’ve met before. I felt so happy and excited today cos finally there are lots of people that can speak English very well that we can talk to. Share stories and stuff. Very nice. I had a lot of fun today. Hehe.
I hope that I can meet with all of u guys someday before we go back to my countries.”- From Illyas Hadi
What an honor! Messages like yours are the most precious encouragement for PMEC to develop and improve for the better. We hope to see you guys soon again. Love xxx.
